Through initiatives like Boost the Roost, shared best practices, and strong policy advocacy, we are raising the quality of school meals while keeping them affordable and accessible. Our members know that when we stand together, we can make nutritious food the norm rather than the exception—for urban students today and for children everywhere tomorrow. I am deeply grateful for the dedicated team and passionate district leaders who bring this work to life every day. Their hard work and commitment remind me daily why this mission matters so much. Together, we remain tenacious in our fight for better school nutrition because we have seen firsthand how a good meal can brighten a child’s day and support their success in the classroom. If you share our belief that every child deserves the opportunity to learn and grow with the support of healthy food, I invite you to join us. Your partnership will strengthen this growing collective and help us continue building sustainable change that reaches far beyond our member districts. Thank you for considering the Urban School Food Alliance. I look forward to the possibility of working together to nourish brighter futures for all our children.

Dear Friends and Partners,
I have spent my entire career fighting for every child to have access to the healthy, nourishing school meals they deserve. What began as a simple belief—that good food helps children learn, grow, and thrive—has led me to this remarkable organization where that belief becomes reality at scale. The Urban School Food Alliance exists because school nutrition leaders from the nation’s largest urban districts chose to come together. Instead of working in isolation, we combined our voices, our expertise, and our substantial purchasing power to create real, lasting change. This collective approach is powerful: when 19 major urban districts align on higher standards, we don’t just improve meals for the 3.8 million students we serve across 6,889 schools. We help shift supply chains and open doors for healthier options in districts of every size, all across the country.
With gratitude,
