USFA Case for Support

Case for Support: Backing initiatives that Support The Alliance could open doors to complete the following projects: Specific Projects to be Funded: 1. Cooking for Healthy Kids Program: After four years of proven success we are looking to grow and expand this initiative to better support scratch cooking in schools. 2. Cooking for Healthy Kids Student Fellowship Pilot: This project, in its early state, is looking for a direct funder to enable us to include more students to demonstrate a clear pathway to school nutrition as a potential career. 3. GrowthZone Learn: This new learning academy will house professional materials for USFA members and districts of all sizes. Learning topics will relate to key areas of USDA professional standards: Administration, Communications and Marketing, Nutrition, and Operations. 4. Best Practice Sharing: We continue to look for ways to increase opportunities to share best practices through member meetings & monthly video calls and hiring expert consultants to speak to our members (ie: AI, Robotics, Healthcare, etc...). In addition, funding supports the sharing of these resources through captured video content and utilization of GrowthZone Learn. Looking for Greatest Impact? Support General Operating Funding that will further our SUPPORT initiatives. Unrestricted gifts give us the flexibility to respond quickly to emerging opportunities, apply our expertise, and influence school nutrition systems at scale — creating benefits that reach far beyond our 3.8 million students.

This educational opportunity was created for and geared toward the equipment managers in our member districts. This training focused on the concept that the right equipment can produce better food, provide safer work conditions, save time, and increase participation in K12 with food that looks, smells, and tastes fabulous. We are looking to expand this program in 2026 and beyond to include more specialty training opportunities for the many roles that exist within school foodservice.
